I'm sure you're all aware by now, but in case you aren't, Bikini Kill--riot grrrl mastermind from the 90s has finally started a record label! Are you thinking what I'm thinking? About fucking time!
Seriously, I'm so excited for this. I was too young to formally participate in the Riot Grrrl scene (I was 8 when "Pussy Whipped" came out), so I'm happy to be a part of this new period in Bikini Kill's life.
According to BK's new site:
As our 25th anniversary approaches, Bikini Kill has decided to start our own record label called Bikini Kill Records. The Bikini Kill back catalog is currently available digitally via bikinikill.com, eMusic & iTunes. The Frumpies and Casual Dots are also up for sale now. We are working towards reissuing the physical Bikini Kill records one at a time. There are brand new Bikini Kill T Shirts available from bikinikill.com at this time with more merch to come in the near future.
I don't know about you, but I can't wait to get my hands on some merch!
