1. The Breathe Network

I was lucky enough to go to a training last weekend in Chicago, led by the founder of this amazing nonprofit, Molly Boeder-Harris. The Breathe Network "is a resource and referral network connecting survivors of sexual violence to trauma-informed, sliding-scale, holistic healing arts practitioners. We educate healing arts practitioners in trauma-sensitive care and we empower future healers through scholarship opportunities to train in the healing arts."

The training was invaluable, and I'm more committed than ever to continue to bring trauma-informed yoga to survivors of sexual violence.

Friday Favorite Five, 7.25.2014

Here is my "Friday Favorite Five"--a list of 5 things I've been loving this week! Following in the radical footsteps of my grrrl Raechel over at Rebel Grrrl Kitchen, I'll also be adding a short list of things that made me happy this week.

What's on your list?

"Cocoon" bath tea, $15-$20

1. Beatbox Botanicals

Ya'll need to check this place out! Adaku Utah, who is the founder, was in my WGS Grad program with me for a short time in Chicago. She's now making beautiful heart healing salves, tea, wine, and more! Also, prices are on a sliding scale!

I plan to buy myself the following: "Heart Elixir", "Love Balm", "Cocoon Bath Tea", "Heart Oil", and "Trust Your Truth Salve."

Happy Friday, loves! I haven't done one of these in a while, and I figured it was something I needed to do now (after this goddamn breakup). So here we go...

1. My dad: today is my dad's birthday. He is an amazing man, and I'm so goddamn lucky to have a father like him. He has taught me so much, and he is proof to me that good men EXIST!

I haven't done one of these posts in a long time, but since my trip to Boston was cancelled due to TWO FEET OF SNOW they were getting, I'm home, and I need something to do. Here it goes.
