Music Monday: Klymaxx

This week's "Music Monday" is a blast from the past. My good friend Kat introduced me to Klymaxx over the weekend, an '80s girl group, and well, they're awesome. From their Wikipedia page...

Hunx and His Punx: you should probably listen

Lately, I've been listening to the new Hunx and His Punx album, "Too Young to Be in Love." The band came into being around 2008, and consists of "Hunx", or Seth Bogart, originally from queer/feminist group, Gravy Train!!!!, and his all-girl backing band; Shannon Shaw, Erin Emslie, Amy Blaustein, and Michelle Santamaria. Hunx and His Punx have been compared to 60s girl groups, with songs about heartache, dating "bad boys," and young love. The difference? Hunx is openly gay, which certainly shakes things up a bit from his 60s girl group counterparts. This band is awesome, and you really must give them a listen! Check the video below to see them perform one of my favorite songs off the album, "Lover's Lane."
