Lady Gaga, in an attempt to gain some relevancy, has put out a video for a song she made, titled, "Til It Happens To You." The video is in black and white and depicts various date rape scenarios. Trigger Warning to those who decide to watch it.

1. The Breathe Network
I was lucky enough to go to a training last weekend in Chicago, led by the founder of this amazing nonprofit, Molly Boeder-Harris. The Breathe Network "is a resource and referral network connecting survivors of sexual violence to trauma-informed, sliding-scale, holistic healing arts practitioners. We educate healing arts practitioners in trauma-sensitive care and we empower future healers through scholarship opportunities to train in the healing arts."
The training was invaluable, and I'm more committed than ever to continue to bring trauma-informed yoga to survivors of sexual violence.
I had the utmost privilege to see Sleater-Kinney perform in Milwaukee this past Sunday night, and it was a riot grrrl dream come true.
I've written about them before here, but to summarize: my cool older brother bought me "The Hot Rock" for my 14th birthday, which then began my entrance into Riot Grrrl and feminism. And I've never turned back.
So... I'm on a playlist kick. Enjoy these 29 songs that have been popular throughout each year of my life--from 1985 to 2014 <3
My 29th birthday is quickly approaching, so I thought I would take a look back on my 28th year--through the format of a playlist. Enjoy :)
