4 Film Recommendations

15 May

I’ve been watching a lot of films that have been gathering dust in my Netflix que. Below is a list of the five films I’ve seen recently:

1. “About Jenny Holzer“, directed by Claudia Muller, 2011

Jenny Holzer has been a favorite artist of mine for quite some time, but I only recently watched this documentary about her and her work. The film follows her work, beginning with postering in the 1970s to current day. Holzer’s primary medium is language. She utilizes text in interesting ways, and her art installations were often LED signs, or projected onto buildings for all to see. Her artwork is about taking up public space. As a pitta, I already have a “fiery” and hot nature, so practicing heated power yoga so often can get to me. Because of this abundance of heat, I started to practice cooling, moon salutations.

I didn’t think my blog needed any explanation (because, it’s all pretty much “in-your-face”), but I’ve received some comments that tell me otherwise.  (more…)

Something we don’t talk about, but we should

3 May

I’ve been an anxious mess recently, because I was awaiting my annual gynecology appointment. Usually, these don’t cause me days of anxiety before and after, but this time was different. (more…)
