I’m going to be doing a “Wellness Cleanse” through the yoga studio I attend. It consists of eating healthy (mostly veg. or vegan) and then doing liquids for three days (broth and smoothies). Throughout it all, we have meetings to talk about our feelings and all that glorious stuff. We also have restorative yoga classes, as well as vinyasa classes that we will be taking. An “Intuitive Healer” is coming and we’re also touring the Whole Foods in Lincoln Park, which is amazing and enormous. (more…)
“Resting” is still yoga

Because I’m a Pitta, I can be very competitive, which, as most of us know, is the opposite of what yoga is about. For example, I have trouble taking Child’s Pose sometimes in between postures–I work to push myself in competition with others (and myself), which I don’t like. (more…)

-one of the most outspoken advocates for women’s ordination and leadership in the Catholic church.
If the people will lead, eventually the leaders will follow.
2. Amma, “The Hugging Mother”
-her hugs are part of her spiritual practice, which views love as the root of action, and physical embrace as a basic expression of human love from which we nurture compassion for the world.
We are all beads strung together on the same thread of love. To awaken this unity–and to spread to others thhe love that is our inherent nature–is the true goal of human life. (more…)
